goldfish

Here's a piece I've been meaning to do for a while now. Had the pencils sitting around in a sketchbook. Also, I just really wanted to draw some fish. Stay tuned for more fish. Below I've added a little bit of the process. The first image is a scan of the pencils. Next I inked it in Illustrator, followed by the colors and patterns. I then made my way to the kitchen to make myself some pancakes. Pencil, Ink, Color, Pancakes. That's how I roll.

Looks great. Kimonos are nor easy to draw, so many strange folds and copious layers. It is nice to see the original sketch, I know guys who do great work with a Wacom, but I am still a pen and pencil (and then a scanner later) man myself.

Oops... I meant "not easy" as opposed to "nor easy". Sorry.

I love it ... it's kinda kinky in a very sweet way. I love the use of shades within the same colour family. :)
