illustration friday: escape

Recently, my form of escape has been taking my Sector 9 longboard and hitting the hills by my house. It's a great way for me to clear my mind and just think randomly. Usually about useless things like making a career out of being a flight attendant just so I can ask people if they would like some salty nuts. I'd be outside right now if it wasn't raining. And as much as I enjoy walking in the rain pants-less, I just don't like skating in the rain pants-less. That's just silly.

I like the sense of movement here...achieved by the deep perspective of the road and the posture of the figure. I also like the long narrow shapes here...it's a great illustration!

Nice work. I love how he dips into the road...he looks so peaceful...the ultimate escape..free on the road!

LOL, on your comment on Anonymous...no bites please. Just enjoying the banter! =^..^=

Must have long board because of long length of legs, too big feet, rubber arms and pointy hands. Sorry - should have done the shadow of the subject, not a shark! Where on Earth do clouds come in the same distorted shape but with altering sizes? This Skater obviously will be hitting the hills after landing on his face because of a balance problem. Are your pants off because you're noodling with your salty nuts? BITTEN!

thanks chacha, i tried rollerblading once, but just couldn't get passed the falling down.

lyn, yeah, the open road is great. long drives are another escape. and anonymous is just a glutton for punishment.

yeah hear that anonymous? thanks for the bite. me and my salty nuts thank you. :P

a great escape! There's something about the way you played with his shadow that lets us feel the movement, but at the same time...i dunno...there's something very zen about it.

LOL...can't think how to put it in words right now.

Wonderful POV and "feel"... the movement is so obvious here. I love the boldness.

Amazing how many places to find the Zen-like experience (without drinking all that tea which just makes me pee more)

Found you on BE and I love the look.

Love the idea of skating to escape. Pantsless could be a problem, though. *G*

anna, eric, aravis, thanks! and pantsless always seems to be a problem.
